The first ten matches are free on iOS, followed by a $0.99 career unlock fee. Android users can expect to cough up R26 for the full title. Swordigo What would happen if you created a game inspired by Nintendo classics The Legend of Zelda and Metroid? Well, Swordigo is the final product, a side-scrolling action-RPG for iOS. Swordigo features all the hallmarks of your typical RPG, such as experience levels, varied environments and a variety of weapons and spells. And iOS fans have been flocking to purchase the title, hitting number one in the adventure games category. For just $1.99, there’s not much you have to lose. Viber VOIP and instant-messaging applications are a dime a dozen, all competing for a piece of a very crowded market. However, Viber has made a name for itself thanks to its feature-filled apps on Android and iOS. Now, a beta has been unleashed for BlackBerry users. Being a beta version, the app isn’t exactly bursting at the seams when it comes to features, with the calling option not available just yet. Nevertheless, texting junkies might want to look at this. Diablo III Server Checker The launch of mega-popular videogame Diablo 3 was soon followed by angry tweets and updates thanks to congested servers. So, the brains behind the WoW Realm Checker and The Old Republic Server Checker crafted this free Android application, giving you a quick update on the status of Diablo 3 servers. Infect the World Inspired by PC and fellow iOS title Pandemic, Infect the World sees players creating a virus and unleashing it on the world (as the name suggests). Created by a single developer, Infect the World has you start in a random region, being able to influence the weather and other geographical events to suit your virus. It’s all very easy to get into, but you’ll want to stay with the game to see your disease spread around the world. And at $0.99, it’s worth a download if you want something different. 30 Second Life As the name implies, this fun little iOS app has you making a series of decisions to determine your character’s life. Well, technically, all you do is mash the “work” buttons (or don’t!) to progress, with many combinations and steps to be had. For example, my first character became a tycoon, while my second became a drug dealer and then philanthropist. It really epitomises what a smartphone game is supposed to be, and at $0.99 it’ll make for a great distraction.
